How to Use Channel Toggle Anchors and Bolts

How to Use Toggle Anchors: A Step-by-Step Guide

Channel toggle anchors are a type of wall anchor used for hanging objects on a wall or ceiling. They are ideal for heavy loads such as TV's, pull bars, cabinets, and more, and can be used in a variety of materials, including drywall, plaster, metal studs, and masonry.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use our channel toggles.

  1. Determine the location: Determine where you want to hang your object and mark the spot on the wall.

  2. Locate the studs: It is always recommended to install anchors to a stud when available. Use a stud finder to locate the wall studs behind the drywall (Our toggle anchors are compatible with metal studs only).

  3. Make a pilot hole: Drill a 1/2" pilot hole through the drywall where you marked the spot. Be careful not to angle the drill into the wall as you do not want to make the hole larger than the intended 1/2" diameter or you may run across issues with the installation.

  4. Insert the toggle: Flip the steel channel and insert the anchor through the 1/2" hole in the wall./>

  5. Seat the channel: Once you're channel is pushed all the way through, the steel channel should flip back into it's original position. Ensure it's seated flat against the interior wall/stud with a few light tugs.

  6. Securing the cap & flange: Pull straight back on the ring end of the toggle and slide the flange towards the wall until it sits flush and snug with the wall.

  7. Breaking off the straps: Position a finger on the flange and apply pressure and begin to bend each strap up and down until each snap off, discard.

  8. Hanging the object: Place fixture over the flange and insert bolt through the fixture hole and into the toggle. Tighten until it's snug against the fixture.

  9. Check for stability: Once the object is secure, give it a gentle tug to ensure that the toggle anchor/s are holding properly.

It’s important to choose the right size toggle anchor and bolt for your project based on the weight of the object and the thickness of the wall material. Additionally, make sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions for a safe and proper installation.

In conclusion, Titan's channel toggle anchors are a reliable and strong solution for hanging heavy objects on a wall. With this step-by-step guide, you’ll be able to easily use toggle anchors for your next project.
