Step 1A. (Front Stake Pockets)
The scribe lines by the cab are incorrect and are larger than the stake pocket hidden underneath. Begin with drilling a 1/2" pilot hole in the center. Using an oscillating/rotary tool or utility knife, carefully work your way out until you reach the edges of the metal stake pocket.

Step 1B. (Rear Stake Pockets)
The rear stake pocket appears open however still requires modification as the plastic rail cap is molded and flows down blocking the metal stake pocket. Using an oscillating/rotary tool or utility knife, carefully cut the plastic rail cap flush with the metal stake opening underneath.

Step 2.
Remove both bolts with the supplied hex key. Angle and maneuver the lower portion of the anchor into the stake pocket. Ensure both sides of the hooks are latched onto the inner rim of the stake pocket.

Step 3.
Pull upward on D-ring and insert the bolts. Hand tighten, give the bolts a final 1/4 turn to secure. (Do not over tighten and do not use power tools)
Easy Access Anchor Points
When your truck bed is fully loaded, it's difficult to get a good anchor point. These anchors are installed right on top of the bed rails for easy access. The anchor point snaps up when in use, and retracts out of sight when it's not.

Install was a breeze with a step bit and low rpm router bit to get past the bulk of the plastic cover. Kudos for the instructions mentioning that the front fake stake lines NOT being true to the placement of the actual stake pocket — really Ram? Tie downs are secure and look great (after the step below). I’ve used it so far to transport a large gorilla cart on top of my trifold cover (to keep from having g to remove wheels for transport in the cover.
What if found with the tie downs and the plastic covers is that the plastic will bow down when you get the right torque in the screws to be secure. To solve this, I cut 2 small rectangles of 1/8 aluminum to slide between the bed metal and the plastic before installing the tie downs (I put a little 3m spray adhesive on the aluminum to help with slippage). This let me tighten the screws well enough for the tie downs to be secure and not cause any bowing of the plastic.
